Melanie Tercilla-Allen is an educator and instructional leader committed to expanding opportunities for students. A proud alumna of Miami-Dade’s School for Advanced Studies, she later returned as an AP English teacher, where she engaged in rigorous, student-centered instruction rooted in empathy and literacy development.

Melanie now serves as a District English Learner Coach in Metro Nashville Public Schools, partnering with middle and high schools to strengthen EL instruction and collaborative data-driven supports for students and teachers.

She is also a doctoral candidate at Florida International University, where her research focuses on closing opportunity gaps in advanced academics.
